I cannot believe this is happening again. It just makes me sick.Who are these idiots on the state fair park board.Nascar will never come here again folks if they have to deal with those imbiciles.Thats a fact people.John Menard wanted control of track with other partners and the IDIOTS on that board said no to his proposal.Menard wrote a very strongly worded letter basiclly saying the samething I am saying. It is sad.My sister was showing me pictures the other day of me and my mother in turn four by the pit entrance. It had to be in the sixties because I am so young I can't remember it.Iam 48 now and have seen the greatest drivers in the world compete. The State fair board needs to sell or give that track to Menard or sombody with a racing background to run that track. Then maybe they can make amends with Nascar maybe.I would like to say THANK YOU to the Andretti's for bringing Indy cars here and ARCA.Now its up to us as race fans to fill the stands.Actions speak volumes.Cities and States building tracks and facilities and Wisconsin wants to get rid of the oldest track in theU.S.A.Where are your brains? I could go on and on I love that place

I have been watching races at the Mile since the mid 1960's and have enjoyed seeing some of the greatest names in the sport go head to head here. This track has such a rich history !!! We can't let a great venue like this slip away !!! Better management, marketing and promoting are needed ASAP to keep racing here. Thanks to Michael Andretti and his group for what they are doing to preserve this. SAVE THE MILE !!!!

Racing has always been an important part of life for people in Wisconsin. Saving the Milwaukee mile would important for people all across the state. It would also bring revenue to the city if they booked NASCAR races at the mile

Growing up in Wauwatosa, my dad and I used to attend races all the time. I have seen state fair go through many transitions, physically and financially and in the end it has alway survived. This park and its track are at a vary critical stage of their existence. There are many that flat-out don't care what happens and would prefer the idea of redevelopement. We all have seen how well that goes....look a half mile east, that went well didn't it?!! The State of Wisconsin is truly blessed with a tremendous sense of racing heritage. At one time there were more drivers coming out of Wisconsin than any other state. This track needs to gather state wide and even national attention in support of its future. There needs to be a political agenda pushed through to Madison to secure funding from both the public and private sector. However, with that said, it can't go the same route taken by the last ownership that bled it dry. As a fan of the Milwaukee Mile what can we do? Write local and state represenatives and demand action to keep the "Mile" open.

NASCAR is really shooting themselves in the foot here. Because I hear there were expansion planes for backstrech grandstands.. if it was true before NASCAR pulled out they could have carried out these plans and NASCAR could have doubbled maybe even trippled their revenue. I went to NASCAR races from '04 all the way through '09 NASCAR... Please come back!!! The mile needs you!

My Dad took to my first race back in the early 50's when the track was still dirt. Drivers then were the likes of Myron Fohr and Marshal Teague. When I heard that it was to be paved I cried because I loved the cars careening through the turns sideways, the dust that turned us black and the thrill of racing that I thought would be lost with pavement. Of course I was wrong. I lived for summers spent on the south turn (#1) bleachers, sneaking in the park via the railroad tracks during Fair Week, the smells, the sounds and the excitement of the Rex Mayes Classic 100, the Tony Bettenhausen Memorial 250...I even miss Wednesday night races cheering Miles Melius, Etchie Biertzer and Kenny Tlougan on the 1/4 dirt track that is now the pit lane. From the late 50's until I went into the USAF in 1966, I never missed a single race of any type on the mile track...Stock cars, Big Cars (Indy-type cars used to be called that) and even the midgets. Please preserve the greatest racetrack in North America.
